Welcome

We would like to take this opportunity to "Thank you" for visiting this site. We hope to gain your support as we work to obtain recognition for the Atomic Test Veterans. We have created this site for you. We are learning as we go; what it takes to communicate with you, to gain your trust, confidence and support, just as many of you are learning, perhaps for the first time, about the atomic experience. We welcome your comments and are prepared to answer any questions you may have of us personally or about this effort specifically. While many volunteered to participate, just as many if not more did not. As you browse this site, the attached links and explore other sources, consider this:

Knowing what we know today; Would you Volunteer or want to be Volunteered?

Time remaining for the 110th Congress to Act on this legislation is very short - a new Congress will convene in January 2009 and this process would have to begin anew - many of our Atomic Veterans simply DO NOT have the time to wait.

Please help us! The Atomic Veteran deserves nothing less than our gratitude!

Ask your Congressman to Co-sponsor HR 3471 and S 2218

New - 8/28/08 The American Legion delays action on the Atomic Veterans Resolution at the 90th National Convention at Phoenix, AZ - assigned to the standing commission for consideration in the fall (October 2008)

New - 8/22/08 Congressman Todd Tiahrt (KS) met with us and several families to hear our concerns about the progress of HR 3471. With only about three and half weeks of actual legislative time remaining for the 110th Congress to act - Congressman Tiahrt said he would seek to suspend the rules and bring HR 3471 directly to the floor when the current recess ends. This action will of course require the approval of the Speaker of the House.

NEW  - 7/11/08  We continue to receive request from Atomic Veterans and family members for information related to Health Care, Claims and how to obtain records of their participation at a test site. We have posted a 2004 information pdf  published by the VA on page 10 of this site "Links to other Important Issues " below. We hope this will help!
